Further Information
Here's some extra information on
using TUFF-TIE:

|
1. INSERT - Insert
prisoner's hands, one through each loop |

|
2. TIGHTEN - While holding
the "pig tail" down, slide the locking block
up SNUG to the wrists. |
 |
3. Lock - Make a simple overhand knot with the excess braid as close as possible to the locking block. |
Slide the block up with AUTHORITY, don't be
afraid to use some force in sliding the block up SNUG
to the wrist. As you slide the block up, you will feel
some SLIGHT resistance. This is proper and is due
to the close tolerances necessary for the teeth to
"read" the braid. The teeth find the
depressions in the braid and lock themselves in. From
that point on, the harder that the prisoner tries to
break free, the tighter he locks the teeth in place. In
fact, in most instances, you will notice a back
ratcheting of the braid for approximately 1/16" as
the teeth read. Not to worry, it is part of the design.
We designed TUFF-TIES so that there
is a "reasonable margin" of forgiveness.
Therefore, it is almost impossible to cut off
circulation at the wrists. |
